PISTA RIZALINA is a new festival that engages artistic expression as a platform with issues concerning human rights and empathy. The festival brings together artists and thought leaders in a dialogue with audiences through various festival components that include a festival of artworks, public conversation, interactive exhibits and flash performances. Named after Rizalina Ilagan, a young activist who was arrested by unidentified men during the Marcos regime, PISTA RIZALINA aims to call attention to the universal, collective trauma brought about by the violation of human rights, enforced disappearances, and political repression.
