Michael Que’s choreographic practice delves deep into the artist experience, exploring alternative structures and proposing contemporary viewpoints in framing dance. His training began with a major in Folk Dance at the Philippine High School for the Arts, which he continued with a degree in Dance at the University of the Philippines Diliman. Under mentors Professor Emeritus Basilio Esteban Villaruz and Kuik Swee Boon, Michael has performed and toured extensively in the local and international dance scene, receiving recognition for his work including the Jury Award at the Korea IMDC 2016, second place in the NCCA’s Sayaw Pinoy 2017 National Dance Competition-Contemporary, and first place and Audience Choice Award at the Wifibody.ph Choreographers’ Competition 2016 which was also placed as a finalist at the 2018 Yokohama Dance Collection Competition I in Japan.
