The Artist Training Division of the Cultural Center of the Philippines is mounting the sixth CCP NATIONAL RONDALLA WORKSHOP 2020 on April 28 – May 2, 2020 from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM in various venues of the Center.

The Workshop is open to rondalla groups all over the country who have been in existence for at least two (2) years and are non-beginners. Rondalla Ensembles who have the rondalla instruments which include the banduria, octavina/laud, guitar and bass may apply for the workshop. 

The workshop trainors will be led by Ms. Elaine Espejo Cajucom of the Celso Espejo Rondalla and the UP Rondalla, and faculty member of the UP College of Music. The workshop modules include sectional rehearsals per rondalla instrument, note reading sessions, individual rondalla ensemble cliniquing sessions, and plenary sessions wherein all the participants gather together to learn a common piece. This year, modules for Children’s Rondalla will also be included. The workshop will culminate in a performance at the CCP Tanghalang Aurelio Tolentino (CCP Little Theater) on Saturday, May 2, 2020 at 4:00 PM. 

The workshop fee is Three Thousand Two Hundred Pesos (P3,200.00) per pax/participant inclusive of packed lunch for the duration of the workshop and the musical scores to be utilized. 

Interested applicants must submit the following: 

  1. Duly accomplished application form.
  2. An audio/video recording of a recent performance of at least two (2) pieces by the group.

Deadline for submission of applications is on March 27, 2020

Acceptance to the workshop will be based on the merit of their application. 

Upon notice of acceptance, a non-reimbursable reservation/confirmation fee of Two Thousand Pesos (P2,000) for Rondalla Groups will be required. All participants are also required to bring their own rondalla instruments, clearbooks, and music stands for the workshop. Walk-ins will not be entertained.
