The Philippine Philharmonic Orchestra’s (PPO) Chamber Music Concert series continues to bring you uplifting classical music for your online viewing and listening pleasure! With the convenience of virtual platforms, classical music lovers from all over the country and around the world can now enjoy performances of the members of the country’s premier orchestra in the comfort and safety of their homes. All concert programmes in the series are carefully selected by PPO Music Director Maestro Yoshikazu Fukumura to give you fascinating sampling of classical pieces composed for the chamber orchestra.

Masters of French Impressionism are featured in PPO’s sixth virtual concert. Claude Debussy’s Sonata for Cello and Piano will be rendered by cellist Giancarlo Gonzales and pianist Mary Anne Espina. The Trio for Oboe, Bassoon and Piano by Francis Poulenc will be interpreted by John oboist Peter Bautista, bassoonist Adolfo Mendoza, and pianist Mary Anne Espina.

Chamber music, as originally defined, is music written for a smaller ensemble of musical instruments and intended to be performed for small gatherings, usually at court or at home. Ensemble playing highlights individual players and their instruments. This form of performance also offers audiences a more intimate experience of classical music different from the grandiose sound of a full orchestra performance. Discover and experience the intimate beauty of classical chamber music as performed by members of the PPO!
