Cultural Center of the Philippines, CANVAS and Black Canvas present BATANG KARAPAT-DAPAT (a Mini-Festival on the Rights of the Child) happening on November 20 – 23, 2019 in celebration of 30th anniversary of the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child.
The highlight of this mini-fest is a storytelling collaboration entitled “Mga Kuwentong Karapat-Dapat” featuring Anima Tierra, Daloy Dance Company and Anino Shadowplay Collective, with performance and direction by Abner Delina Jr. a.k.a Kuya Fidel of Batibot. Three CANVAS -published stories (“Tahan Na, Tahanan”, “Nadia and the Blue Stars” and “Inang Kalikasan’s Bad Hair Day”) will come to life in the form of shadowplay, dance and music, focusing on the value of home, society and environment. As the CCP commits to offer engaging activities for young audiences, the Batang Sining and Sining Alamin programs will provide a platform where students can learn in the arts, through the arts, and about the arts.
This event is supported by our artist partners and event sponsors: Save the Children Philippines and The Araneta Foundation to name a few. For more details, contact CCP Arts Education Department at 832-1125 loc 1602-03 and follow BLACK CANVAS and CANVAS on their social media accounts:
