After the successful and first ever Terno Making Convention and Contest held last year, the Cultural Center of the Philippines (CCP) and Bench/Suyen Corporation join efforts again to pursue its mission of preserving and promoting the Philippine national dress with the implementation of TERNOCON 2020.

The Ternocon 2020 Convention will be held on May 28, 2019 at the Silangan Hall of the CCP. It aims (1) to encourage Filipinos to be more informed about their national dress and its various aspects, (2) to encourage Filipinos to appreciate and continue the craft of making the national dress, and (3) to reinforce a sense of nationalism and pride for our cultural heritage.  Important guest speakers from both the academe and fashion design community have been invited to cover various topics that involve the Philippine dress.

The Ternocon Convention is open to 50 pre-registered participants (designers, students, teachers, cultural workers and Filipiniana enthusiasts) plus the 14 finalists of Ternocon 2020.  The 14 finalists, who will undergo mentoring and workshops from May 27 to 31, are: Abdul Gaffar A.
