On September 26, the CCP renews its’ partnership with the City of San Fernando for a Festival of Lights! Started several years ago, the annual lighting of the CCP Façade has become a beloved tradition which the community looks forward to. This year, in celebration of 50th Anniversary of the Cultural Center of the Philippines we bring the whimsy of twinkling parols back from September 27 to January 05 in a four-month long festival of light. Each evening the lanterns will glimmer in a light and sound spectacle show which is sure to delight passersby, tourists and just about anyone who visits the complex.

The unique partnership of the nation’s premier cultural institution with the province renowned the world over for the beauty and grandeur of its Giant Lanterns is further enhanced with the installation of award-winning multimedia-artist Abdulmari “Toym” Imao Jr. with Kapampangan craftsman from renowned family of lantern makers, Arvin Quiwa.

The installation shall consist of one (1) unit 20-feet lantern-type structures representing the role arts & culture plays in our society to be placed at the CCP Front Lawn combines the traditional arts with the magic of new technology, a depth of meaning with the pure enjoyment of nightly spectacle. The CCP Main Building façade shall have stylized Baybayin images of Truth, Goodness and Beauty symbolizes the institution.

Raise the stake, the involvement of the National Artists Ryan Cayabyab and Bienvinedo Lumbera will emphasize the magical splendid of the theme for this golden year of celebration.
